Elgin Vintners has added a new element to its tranquil and supremely comfortable country retreat on a working wine farm – The ESSE Pamper Room, offering body and beauty treatments with leading organic, probiotic and ethical skincare range Esse.

The boutique winery and country house set amid the orchards and vineyards of the picturesque Elgin valley offers an ideal escape to refresh, renew and restore from the stresses of life, just an hour’s drive from the Cape Town city centre, and 40 minutes from Franschhoek.

The Pamper Room is located in the four-star Elgin Vintners Country house with its old world charm, contemporary comfort and accommodation in four luxury suites, and is the exclusive stockist of the award-winning, South African-developed Esse skincare products in the Elgin/Grabouw/Bot River area.

With the multi-accoladed Elgin Vintners wines to taste and tempting platters and pizzas to enjoy in the cosy garden bistro, along with the abundant terraced garden for a relaxing walk, a swimming pool and spectacular mountain views, the facial and body treatments offered at The Pamper Room round out an all-over stylish and relaxing experience, says Elgin Vintners business manager and winemaker Marinda Kruger.

She said Esse products were specifically selected as they are local, upmarket yet affordable, organic, vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. Carbon- and plastic neutral and supporting fair trade practices, the Esse philosophy aligns with Elgin Vintners ethics and approach to farming, winemaking and business.

Esse’s approach to skincare uses probiotics and biotechnology to “rewild” the skin’s natural ecosystem, restoring the skin’s microbiome to combat the effects of pollution and industrialised beauty products to restore the balance and keep skin looking younger for longer.

With a qualified cosmetologist on-site, The Pamper Room is open to both booked-in guests and day visitors and offers Esse facials, body and skin treatments, massage, and grooming including brow and lash tints, manicures and pedicures. The Esse product range is available for purchase.

The Pamper & Stay package on offer from September through November is the perfect opportunity to experience the Pamper Room and the tranquillity of Elgin Vintners, with a two-night stay, facial treatment, massage, a bottle of Elgin Vintners Belle Amie Blanc de Noir, and breakfast daily, for R2 800 per person.

The Pamper Room is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 08.00 to 17.00. Bookings must be made 24 hours in advance, although special arrangements can be made to accommodate guests of the Elgin Vintners Country House at shorter notice.

Tea or coffee, still or sparkling water and a glass of Elgin Vintners wine are complimentary with all treatments, and gift vouchers are available.
