Kindling the festive spirit with music and song under the stars at Blaauwklippen
Festive traditions might seem a distant memory as the end of a pandemic-driven 2020 approaches, but the heritage Stellenbosch estate of Blaauwklippen has a solution for getting into the festive spirit – an open-air evening of Classical Carols by Candlelight on Sunday, 13 December, that will delight the whole family.
Some of South Africa’s leading young classical performers promise to put the swing into the season with an early evening outdoor concert on the Blaauwklippen picnic lawns.
Bring your picnic blankets and chairs and watch the sun sink behind the mountains while being entertained by Niël Rademan, Amanda Osorio (soprano), Brittany Hope Smith (soprano), Minette du Toit Pearce (mezzo soprano), Petrus de Beer (violin), Zorada Temmingh (piano) and the Stellenbosch Brass Trio.
Seating is casual, picnic-style, allowing ample space for distancing and space for the youngsters to play while the grown-ups enjoy the music.
Numbers are limited and tickets at R125 pp must be booked in advance at https://plankton.mobi/Events/EventBooking/43edb042-e932-eb11-80d1-0cc47a93d288

Wine, gin and soft drinks will be available for sale from the Blaauwklippen tasting room.
