At the end of a long week, gather the family round the table and let the creative duo of Hamm & Uys do the cooking with a home-delivered three-course Sunday lunch of traditional favourites served up with their characteristic fun and flair.

Johnny Hamman and Marius Uys’s restaurant Hamm & Uys at Blaauwklippen in Stellenbosch is renowned for its casual country warmth and their cooking that puts a modern, global spin on South African heritage food in generous portions with great value.

The Hamm & Uys hearty family Sunday lunch menu changes weekly and includes South African favourites like roosterkoek, West coast mussel potjie, 24-hour slow-cooked waterblommetjie bredie, winelands free-range roast chicken pie or hearty oxtail, with old-school sides such as cauliflower cheese and sweetcorn-filled gemsquash given a gourmet update.

For desserts, think peppermint crisp tart, “kerk-bazaar” lemon meringue or granny’s melktert.

Meals can be ordered to serve from one up to 10 people. Prices vary depending on the weekly menu.

Delivery is free for Sunday lunches and available widely in the greater Cape Town area, including northern and southern suburbs, Hout Bay, Somerset West and Stellenbosch.
